Using Cooking to Promote Organizational Team Building

Cookin' Up Change and the internationally acclaimed Santa Fe School of Cooking have developed a new recipe that is guaranteed to get your team cookin’!

Just as a great meal is more than the sum of its ingredients, a high performance team is much more than the sum of its participants. Our kitchen mimics the pressures of today's fast-paced work environment. We use cooking as a way to encourage and improve collaborative effort and team learning to create a synergistic learning experience.

The Team Cooking Experience
The Team Cooking Experience can be a one or two day event. Prior to the event, individual participants complete a CUChange questionnaire. We use this information to custom design your program. Before entering the kitchen we organize a series of activities and workshops that hone team skills to enhance communication, collaboration, and effectiveness. Once in the kitchen, the teams find themselves challenged to use these tools.

Light Team Building
Light Teambuilding is the perfect addition to your corporate meetings held in Santa Fe. Spend a half-day session with us and get your group working, laughing, and talking together while producing a traditional southwestern meal!

The Santa Fe Scavenger Hunt
The Santa Fe Scavenger Hunt is a great lead-in to the Team Cooking Experience. The team will visit and learn about historic Santa Fe while gathering crucial resources for creating a gourmet meal later in the day. The Scavenger Hunt focuses on team planning, effective use of resources, leadership, and recognition of team and individual accomplishments.

Santa Fe School of Cooking
The Team Cooking Programs are offered at the Santa Fe School of Cooking, a twelve year old regional cooking school specializing in foods of the Southwest. The internationally acclaimed school has been featured in numerous publications including the New York Times and Business Week, as well as being featured on the Food and Travel television network.

The School is located steps away from Santa Fe’s historic plaza. First class hotels, galleries, shops, and charming casitas are within walking distance. The School provides a special setting for the Team Cooking Programs with it’s light-filled classroom and veranda overlooking colorful San Francisco Street.

CUChange can accommodate groups of up to 44 people.
